Re: OFFICIAL LA BAYOU HUNT - SITE PICS ADDED 2/26/08!!!
We had a sad beginning to the day. Found our little 4 mo. old choc lab demised. Hooch. Noticed a couple of days ago he seemed to be "off his feed." Yesterday he was worse. Today he's gone. He was a stray we took in, but our black lab loved him. I thought he was kinda rough. Anyway, last Friday we had pulled away in the truck and immediately heard yelping. We thought we had run over his foot. He still played and ate and was normal ... until a couple of days ago. Maybe we ran over something more valuable? Either that, or he ate something he shouldn't have, which he was good at.
In the meanwhile, Daisy was lonely (black lab). I called around and found a trailer with lots of labs. (This is a Louisiana thing.) Went down the road, couldn't find the trailer, but wound up at another trailer at the end of the dead end road. Stopped to ask directions and wound up with Pepper, a cute little lab-mix about 10 weeks old, white chest, white snout with pepper spots, and white socks. She'd showed up at THAT trailer 3 days ago, probably from the trailer we were trying to find, which was just down the road. Don't know what she's mixed with, but she is a true people lover. I think ya'll will like her. But don't run over her, please!! Daisy's still wondering where Hooch went and what this other thing is. I've introduced her to the cats and the chickens. She still has the little puppy ears that are crooked when she's curious. Sits ON my feet when she watches the chickens. Has no clue what they are, but she hasn't tried to terrorize them yet. I think it's the other way around. Wish us luck!!
