Gift from my grandmother who had a well-traveled family, she claimed that it was a Roman oil lamp. Its made of iron, has a screw-in base.

Does a magnet stick to it?
From the pictures it looks like brass or bronze.
Brassy color in bare areas and has green patina.

Just took a pic with my pixel 6 phone and the first thing popped up was one like yours except it has a Mouse instead of a Bird. Its a Ancient Roam Bronze Oil Lamp.
