Need a little help here.

I've got the 1971 Kennedy that has the two dates, 1960 and 1985. No mint mark.

The thing weighs just the same as 40%.

Is it 40%, or just a sad waste of time?

i've seen a few of those I think they are chrome dipped or a thick chrome plating and then they stamped it for whatever reason......musta been the 25th anniversary of some company or deal like that maybe?

they are not 40% to my knowledge.

Thanks BH,

I actually feel good about that, because I've thrown 3 or 4 back before now.

Keep on Rollin' !

I found a 1971 gold-plated half, as well. I looked it up online and then threw it back. I gave a 1980's gold-plated one to a friend who thought it was cool. Maybe they make neat gifts?

1985 was the 25th anniversary of the election of John Kennedy as president, and some company just took some random halves and stamped them to sell to unsuspecting and uninformed collectors. Lots of them are either chrome or gold plated, too. I see them, and for some reason, SAVE them.......... :BangHead:

But, I also keep proofs, gold plated, etc. They only cost $0.50 to save.
