Tonight I went to a bank that I had only been to once before, on the far side of the city. I didn't have a good feeling about this bank because the teller was asking questions, just out of curiosity, she was friendly but still a little annoying. Behind her there was a teller counting the coins in the try and a teller slacking off. When the teller counting the loose coins got to the pennies he stopped, picked one out and went over to the slacker and said "here's one you'd like". She looked at it and went to the back, that really annoyed me.
I got my box of dimes and was on my way. A few of the rolls were plastic and as always I like to look at the sides to see if I can find a worn edge or a silver looking one. I saw an odd looking silver one so I took it out. 1964 Roosevelt! This is the first silver FDR I have found coin roll hunting. In July I had found a 1940 Merc and I then wondered when/if I would find a silver FDR, well now I have.
So I go through the rest of the box and find a 1962 and a beautiful 1967 centennial.
Over all 3 silvers, that good with me. ;D

congrats on the finds and the firsts!

Keep it up! Nice to see other Canadian hunters here,eh!
Do you by any chance how to distinguish 1967 dimes and quarters (80% or 50% silver content)?

Are you familiar with the drop test and the sound of silver? 80% 1967s will sound like other 80%s but the 50%s will sound different, the same as the 1968 50%s. How long have you been coin hunting for? and in what part of the country are you in.

I've been coin hunting for about 8 months. Mostly done nickels though, because got kinda frustrated with the amount of silver per box.
