Has anyone thought about using robotics for some of this stuff? Ie. looking into old barely holding together mine shafts/tunnels. This is the 21st century, it's not that farfetched of an idea.

Yeah RPM sounds like a catchy term hehe. I posted this on the techniques forum, the robot would be used for scouting to see if there are any dangers around before I go in. It's not as glamorous sounding as what Tia Carrere does in relic hunter or what Indiana Jones would do, but it sounds a lot safer.
