So, found this in my neighbor's yard....what is it? Resembles a giant wrench. Shaft is about 2 feet long.today Find 2.webpToday Find 3.webp

Tractor pto shaft I think
 

I would say a pto shaft as well could be off a mowers side.

OK, I personally thought it looked like a fire hydrant wrench...bit i'll look up a pto shaft. Thanks guys

problem with the shaft is the shaft is flat perhaps 1/3 of an inch thick i can measure it tomorrow...
 

Most of the shafts ive seen are square tubing
 

It looks like a reciprocating arm off of machinery. Probably a tractor, maybe a sickle bar mower. It looks like the hemisphere bolts on in two pieces which would go over a ball to form a ball joint.
