Went hiking, I found this today with my boys, hauled it out pretty far with their help. Anyone know what it is from? Thanks in advance. I like those iron tones sometimes!! It sure was a heavy! It is 5 feet across. I would be happy with a wagon , but maybe it’s from a stage coach!!! It was found in a stage stop kind of place! per Wikipedia: Square steel nuts were common on machinery of the late 19th through mid 20th century. Doesn't answer your question what the axle came from, just a ball park time frame for it. Would make a nice wall hangar.

That would be a buggy axle nice find

Agree. Front axel. still has some part of the hound on it, so it was intended to turn. Back axel would not turn.
