Old brooch and lock

Found this old brooch and lock this evening, both were around 4-5 inches deep.
The brooch is my first jewelry find , any info on either would be appreciated.

Nice lock. Looks like the end of the key was broken off inside it. Although it doesn't show a photo, the listing says "it says Malta on the top". https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-malta-iron-maltese-cross-lock-100139381

Cool lock! The filigree jewelry piece could very well be from the same era (Art Deco) as the lock.

Good ID... Lever Padlocks - Iron - M thru M - Antique Padlocks

"MALTA". 3 1/2" high x 2 1/8" wide. Stamped steel case. Steel shackle. Mfg by: Miller Lock Co.
