Old brooch and lock

Found this old brooch and lock this evening, both were around 4-5 inches deep.
The brooch is my first jewelry find , any info on either would be appreciated.

Cool lock! The filigree jewelry piece could very well be from the same era (Art Deco) as the lock.

"MALTA". 3 1/2" high x 2 1/8" wide. Stamped steel case. Steel shackle. Mfg by: Miller Lock Co.
