Hello everybody! I discovered this old button on my most recent archaeological digs and am not sure exactly what it is or how old it is. I live near the battle of Shiloh and find civil war artifacts all the time on my 72 acres of land. I have checked multiple museums, talked to a handful of curators, and a couple of professors and still can't figure it out. I am not sure if it is civil war, or later. I know for a fact there were over a dozen different states and companies that marched in town and the woodland (where I'm at) during the civil war, AND they did troop training for WWI and WWII where I'm at because the hilly terrain similar to that of France's. The front almost looks to me like the Pennsylvania coat of arms. I took a stroll to the Shiloh battlefield and found out the 77th Pennsylvania infantry indeed was at the battle so there is a possibility.
Specs:
It's about as round as a penny
Possibly brass
Was about 8 inches in the ground
Appears to have 2 horses on it
Possibly Pennsylvania coat of arms
Has EXP (expedition?)
Any help would be appreciated and good luck!
