Old Button...Need some info please.

[n800]

Found this old button today and I'm wondering if anyone on here can shed a little light on it. The text on it reads "ETAT D'HAITI" and it came out of a farm field that dates back to the early 1700's. Any Info or history would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking!
