This old pot-like object was $4.50 at a resale shop. It presumably made of red clay and is quite heavy, almost perfectly round, clay pot2.webp10 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. It looks as if it had a spout on the top but has been plugged and mortared shut. It rattles gently when shaken. It has slightly indented decorations on its exterior.

Look like and old Urn

Wife and I were detecting low tide ( which happened to be at 11:30 pm) at Tybee Island. The November moon had the tide pulled all the way out to the end of the pier. She called me over to look at a red pot she had found in the mud. I picked it up and pulled out the silk scarf that was packed inside. White chaulky stuff went everywhere. That's when we realized what it was!!! I stuffed everything back into the pot, walked down to edge , apologized and chunked him back into the ocean. After the nerves settled down, we went on to have a very good night!! Tony
