Does anyone know what this might be? I was hoping it is a very old compass. Both sides are identical. Thanks! 1530458845160.jpeg

What metal is it?
Looks brass or bronze.
Could be a axle shim and the groves are for the grease to lube the surfaces.

It's either brass, bronze, or copper. With that being said could I eliminate it being a thrust washer? Thanks!
