Found these today. The first one is heavy and looks like copper or something and looks well made. Anyone have any ideas? What's that cutout? What's the hole for? The other thing is mystery too.

The oval one appears to be a drawer pull escuteon plate with the pull handle missing.

I was thinking like an old light switch but the cutout is too small. The hole on the top must have gone with something but what? I have searched for the shape but can't find it anywhere.
