I found this old copper coin in a field in Canada that does produce Old Colonial tokens but apparently also produces some old US coins as well it's approximately 28 mm I've tried to clean it but as you can see from the detail it's pretty crusty pretty toasty I think the only thing I can see on it is ET LI on the opposite corner maybe a Dk

Hoping someone might have recognized some of the detail that I just can't see or the lettering thanks in advance

If you're seeing "ET LI" around the edge, it might be a Connecticut or Vermont copper, they had "INDE ET LIB" variations on the reverse. Can't say for sure based on the photos.

Any idea what years your reference coins might be from?

If you can read any of the letters at all, try googling every combination you can think of with "copper coin" and look at images, I've had success that way sometimes. Sometimes they are just too far gone to ID but I can definitely see at least one letter on yours. I can't tell if it can be cleaned at all, a toothpick might be able to bring out some of the subtle details. Also maybe try shining a flashlight on the coin from the side, sometimes that helps show details better.
