Jeff and are hit and old grassy field today and it started raining. We kept getting hits so we stayed a little too long. We got soaked.

Jeff found 6 quarters, 6 dimes and a wrist watch. I found a little clad and a pocket knife. My second ever! This one is in a little better shape and may also be a Case knife.

It read between a quarter and a penny on my M6 at 74-84 VDI. It was 2 inches down by a big old tree. Usually 74 VDI is trash so I almost didn't dig. But it was raining and I wanted to come away with something...

SWEET Find & a good sign there is more to be had ...

Continue to Persevere ... Nick

It is a huge area where a lot of people were as far back as the 1860s so I am hopeful.

Awesome knife!

Just goes to show ya how much we could be missing by not digging everything.

Isn't that one of the eternal questions of detecting, Stan!?!

We end up digging so many crap signals to make sure we're not missing a relic that when we finally ignore that 50th junk reading it was probably a ring or relic worth a fortune! Seems like I dig so much worthless crud it's hard to stay motivated.

"To dig all or not to dig all, that is the question! Whether tis nobler in the mind to avoid the pangs and twinges of overexerted joints, or take up digger against a sea of soil and buy opposing, hurt them. To find, to seek........No more. And by seek to say we prolong the heartache and the thousand natural disappointments the flesh is heir to.........tis a consummation devoutly to be avoided!"

(With apologies to Shakespeare) :icon_jokercolor:

BTW, good find Soreknees! I love useful 'artifacts'! ;D
