Does anyone have an idea of the age of this find. Probably a toy of some kind, it's made of solid lead. It looks like an Arab smoking an Arab type pipe. The face as been I think purposefully damaged. There's no makers mark, I think it could be fairly old, maybe 18th Century. I've not seen anything like it before, it's certainly well made.

Robert.

May be part of a "Britains" set. They made a lot of lead figures, arabs included. Can't imagine what went through that hole under his arm though.

Spelter lead toy? Here is a pic of a set. Not much info, tho.

The one guy has a hooka. It looks like his arm may go up and down to bring the pipe to his face. Maybe yours had a similar set up using that hole? As usual, I'm guessing...

Could be DCMatt, but it's not painted, and is a solid lump of lead.

Robert,

I'm still intrigued by this find.... Is it flat enough on the bottom to sit upright on it's own? Anything on the bottom to indicate attachment?

The Sultan of Cannibus destroying his brain cells? Seriously, reminds me of something from "The Arabian Knights", or perhaps "Aladdin"? Other than that I don't have a clue. Monty

Hello DCMatt, it does not sit up straight, it leans back. The flat part on the bottom is not big enough. It doesn't look as if it was attached to anything.
