If your new to this hobby make a written list of everyone you know - this will take a while.
Family, friends, neighbors, co-worker's, etc.
If their house is more than 75 years old or so - ask if you can hunt their yard.
This will put you back into the 1964 or earlier Silver Coin era - they are always great finds.
Dig neat plugs, fill in your holes, take all the trash with you - even if it's just laying around the yard.
If you leave a site cleaner then when you got there - there's a good chance you be welcomed back in the future.
You can also find old sites by going to your local Library, Historical Society, Metal Detecting Clubs, etc.
