I'm preparing an article for publication (not a treasure-hunter), and to that end* I need to look at as many old maps of the east coast of Florida (Canaveral to Jupiter, but esp. the area from Sebastian to Vero) as possible.

I have already looked at alot of stuff available online (D. Rumsey, Univ. S. Florida, UF, Univ. Alabama, etc.).

Does anyone know of any other old maps of this area?

*(My research involves pinpointing the archaeological remains of the main town of the Ais INdians and their nearby barrier island inlet, called "Rio" or "Barra" of the Ays / Ais.)

I am sending you by email....a PDF file of a newspaper article I found from 19 Dec 1952 regarding a story about the AIS Indians. Hope it helps some....it's not a map, but might contain some information you did not know.

The subject line will be AIS Indians....

Thanks JG in NC!
The first link didn't quite work for me. It directed me to a website that didn't work when I tried to query for some 1881-1883 geodetic surveys of E. Fla. that I know exist.
The Univ. of Georgia website was helpful and new to me.
