That is awesome!! It still has the lead wrap around it which is even nicer :icon_thumright:

watercolor said my thoughts exactly. Awesome. The provenance of that piece truly fascinates me because I also detect/TH on the Clinton/Sullivan trail. Great find!
I've found many Iroquois artifacts and even some at the headquarters of Joseph Brant which is only 25 miles from my home. Brant was the Mohawk chief who fought in the Battle of Newtown against Generals Clinton and Sullivan.
I've never found any Continental Army artifacts, yet!!

Great find! wish I could come hunt with you guys

Can someone tell me exact address so I can maybe one day try and get there from Queens ny,......I can't find any descent places to hunt! Thank u so much Jackie

It is a Revolutionary War battleground so needless to say, there is no public land to metal detect. From my personal experience, the landowners surrounding the battlefield are not very keen on people hunting for relics and artifacts.
On another note, I hardly think anyone is going to give away an exact location of their hunting grounds. There is lots of history near you. Research is crucial.
Good luck

If your up at Sullivan`s Monument...on the hill.... your 2 miles west from from where the Battle took place .
