Old Navy Cup find

Hi all!

I know that most folks talk about their metal detecting finds here, but I wanted to share a find that I made recently in the attic of an old house that my family is selling. I came across an old box in the corner of the attic which had this remarkable porcelain cup with the letters USN on it. I assume that this is something from the Navy. Has anyone come across something like this before?

That is a navy watch cup , they were made with no handle so you would hold it and keep your hands warm
