Old NY military photo

Just an old photo I came across - assume this is NY infantry? I know nothing about military stuff but thought someone would find it interesting. It's ~ 5" x 7"

If anyone knows the rough time period of the photo, that would be interesting to know as it might place which relative this belonged to.
 

Reminds me of Spanish American War period uniforms, 1890's.

Ok, I put my brain on and scoured the photo. On the flag is Company A, 2nd NY. They have the 1890's style belt buckle and on the one guy I can clearly make out NY. In 1902 the army discontinued the Indian Wars style blue blouses and went with the high collar OD style used in WWI. So...right on the first guess.

Must be my great great grandfather somewhere in that photo...not sure which one though.
 

I believe Smokey the cat is dead on with the photo ID. Great looking pic.
