It's a huge three way harness buckle, very nice.
The straps on the sides were secured to the buckle and the one with the tongue was for cinching it up tight.
Electrolysis to loosen up that iron piece and be able to close it into the beautiful buckle. Definitely made for a large animal, draft horse or ox. Any freighter roads near where you found it? It is an awesome piece of brass and history, congrats. Sub

I got it to free up after the electrolysis bath. I think it was plated? I can't find a makers mark but I'm wondering if it was made by the North & Judd company. Any thoughts?
