Old plantation

I found this along with a few old square nails. Any ideas. At one point the plantation was owned by Catholic Church . Appears to be brass

Holes irregularly spaced, slightly differing in size, most not perfectly round. Mmmm. Something handmade. probably unique and unidentifiable.

Probably a piece to an old copper roof.
