I went out to the old church camp grounds today...they have been hit very hard...coins are far and few between.
Lately I'm looking only for older coins...After 20 years of doing this..finding clad becomes old hat.

Went near the base of an old tree and the XLT hit between +54 and +72 at 4.5 inches. This was a must DIG!!

Found a 1913 Buffalo Nickle..(For you collectors it's the raised mound variety, a 1910 "V" or Liberty nickle and a 1910 penny.

It was a great day

Thanks for looking (sorry my Sony camera sucks on closeups)

That is a nice spill. The photo is a little fuzzy but the coins look to be in great shape.

Congrats

Great old pocket spill. I still haven't found one of those. I'm still looking for my first V nickel also.

Great spill!!....How did you get them so clean? Even the wheatie has a copper shine.

In all the buffs I have dug I only have one 1913 type1. Nice find.

Yea it does...the little flower icon...I've tried and tried...must be my age...I am getting old..69 next month :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

By the way the coins are in very good shape for the amount of time they spent in the ground...That is the best conditioned 'V" nickle I ever found...I cleaned them with some stuff the water company gave us once to get the dirt out of the clothes we washed after they ran some bad water through the line. Its pretty good stuff. also used a tooth brush to scrub them a little. They were beyond collector quality so it didn't matter. :) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Nice finds. Its not often that your able to read the date on a Buffalo nickle.

Sweet dates and a nice find someone missed lunch that day

I always hunt around trees..the roots can be a pain but the hunts are generaly good,
i figure kids like to clinb trees and hanging around in them upside down drops treasures for me to find...LOL
