Old posting, old brooch revisited

Hello all!

I posted this piece some time ago in the Today's Find section. It's a piece that I found about 2" down in the dirt. The only marking it has is on the back, where it says the entire word SILVER.

I'd LOVE to know if anyone can provide more information on it... perhaps a year range... Maker (if possible)... and whether or not it's all silver? Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

I've looked ALL over google and can't find anything!

With no markings other than "SILVER" it's hard to say.

My guess is 1940s or '50s from the style.
