Old Relics From the Field & One Might Be Indian Related.

Howdy Folks. Last two hunts combined here for ya'. Yesterday I pushed out deeper into the field area I call the "target range" for all the old bullets being dug here. I finally managed scoring four round musket balls in this spot. Sweet. On the way there I dug an old brass-copper lock plate for a skeleton key. Not much other than a lot of lead. Today I stayed up top and concentrated on the iron infested area I have been scoring some of the better non ferrous targets. Zero on the coins but, got some more brass scraps, square nails, and various other bits and pieces.

My one find of note is the peculiar brass-copper hollow tube tip thingy. I believe it might be a Native American "tinkle cone". I have seen them posted before but, have never seen one in real life. I can't figure what else it could possibly be? The patina on it looks very old and it looks like it's been in the dirt a long time. It measures right at 1.5 inches. Any thought on this interesting item let me know. I'll start researching them tinkle cones now. It was darned cold but, the ground is still unfrozen. Thanks for stopping by. Kurios1
