went to an old school I have pounded to death, thought I'd try 2 tone ferrous sounds trying to squeeze out some more finds since this yard is heavily littered with iron. I rarely dig nickels at this school so I thought hunting with an open screen and using ferrous sounds I'd have a better shot at finding some. Nickels tend to bounce around a lot and just do not come in good on the normal etrac coin program.

It worked like a charm, dug 5 nickels total, 2 modern, one 1939, and 2 silver war nickels. Also got two wheats as well. Then I headed over to a farm house that I have hunted a million times to give it a try there for an hour. Found a thimble and an old advertising pocket knife.

I always enjoy the videos Goes, good stuff. Why don't you ever do full digs, and what does the 'total searched' in your forum signature mean?

my new camera is like a cell phone, pretty hard to lay it down like I did my old camera. I would need a tripod.........the "total searched in my sig is for the coin roll forum section.......

Do you think the same 2 tone theory could be beneficial when using an Xterra 70?
???

It's worth a shot in junky areas!

I upgraded from the x-70 and with it I had better luck disc out iron only, the processor in the etrac is faster therefore you can hear the high tones right beside iron, with the x-70 I felt it lagged and it seemed to lock onto the iron and I missed the non ferrous items if they were close or touching, so if I were you I would disc out iron only and try 4 tone

Right on Goes.

Ty for the experienced tips :)

Thanks for the Video, and great hunt you had. :icon_thumright:
