Old settlers home site finds part 2

Went back to this site this afternoon. Mostly old iron relics. Flat button! and a musket ball! and what looks like a trigger guard for a double barrel shot gun any thoughts on this?

It is a big pile of rusted iron HHaah! And i'm going to save it all!! My map does show several buildings and I have only been working one debris field. So either all the buildings were very small and close together or I will come into a second debris field. Maybe that will be the house!

LOL, Helix. I'm still moving my rusty stuff around to keep my wife from tossing it out. To me, this rusty stuff is merely a sign of human activity and marker to eventual awesome finds. I never let Rust, Iron or Junk, discourage me from hunting a site. I see it as a challenge.

Went back to this site today. I decided to get my baring compared to my 1870's map to goggle earth... I used the road as my point of reference and then looked were my map showed buildings. I started MDing in a spiral motion around were I found the capped bust dime. Sure enough I hit a second area about 50 yards a way full of signals!!!! To make a long story short it was getting dark and had to cut the trip short. Can't wait to go back!
