Old silver ring

Dug this one a couple weeks ago. Time has taken it's toll so it didn't clean up well. It's marked sterling , NY, CC. Dug it in 2 pieces. The hinge had deteriorated and the top with the stone came off. Any thoughts? For those of us old enough to remember, it made me think of the ring underdog wore. HH Kevin
