Old strong box ID?

When i was a kid my dad did some work on a friends tractor and kept tripping on the corner of what you see now. It was completely burried exsept for the corner. My dad had me dig it out and it was given to us. What do you make of it?

Glad you refinished it too. After being in the ground for a while I bet it was crusty as it could be. Awesome the lock still worked too.This has to be a "Best Finds" candidate.
