I'd guess that it's a leather craft tool; specifically for pushing leather drawstrings through holes in, say, a saddle or pair of boots?

That's been several people's thought but the blade is about 3/8" wide and that would really punch a big hole.

Is not designed to "punch a hole". Could be used for threading leather laces through an existing hole. However, it might also be that I'm totally wrong....AGAIN! :laughing7: ...but I'm so GOOD at it!! :laughing9:

Looks like a tool for wood engraving to me.

Sure it's not a can opener? Punching slot type holes in oil can.

I wonder if it might be for tire plugs?:dontknow:

Have you taken the blade out of the handle? Any markings on it?

It's for cutting the "eyes" out of potatoes, then you plant the "eye" and get a new plant. Sometimes they just cut up the potato into chunks with an "eye" in each chunk, but then you waste a perfectly edible spud.

Can you provide a picture or is this a wag?

I could be wrong, but I think the OP piece is too heavy-duty to be a corer/peeler. :dontknow:

I still think it's meant for threading (meaning to push the string through its subject medium) some sort of string (leather or ??) or possibly even poly tubing.
