Old traffic signs: need advice on cleaning

Love these old metal traffic signs. Pre WW II I believe. Found yesterday at a burned down home in Cochise County, Az. Any advice on cleaning and preservation is much appreciated.

Straighten, sand blast, primer, paint (background and lettering) That is about all you can do with signs in that condition. Or sandblast and clear coat if you like the rustic look. They are great pieces, congrats! Sub
