Hit my one of honey holes before work. Interesting signal. Definitely silver sound, but mixed junk too. Etrac showed 8". I dug down and thought I hit junk. It turned out to be an old wallet with the change pocket full! The coins were all stuck together mixed in with carnival ride tickets. So after I soaked them a bit, they came apart. There's a silver half. Two silver Washington's (39 & 43), silver mercury dime, a buff, a Jefferson, and two pennies. One is a wheat. The other is crusted so bad I can't tell. And about 25 5cent ride tickets! All the coins are very crusty. And ideas on trying to clean? Thanks.

Nice find(s)! (:

Nice digs. Thanks for the pics

Next best thing to a cache.

Very good recovery. If you have an electrolysis setup, try that. A good long water soak might be the next thing.

cool find soak it all in olive oil, does the buffalo have three legs

Great find ! I'm kind of surprised at how crusty those silvers are - I wonder if it's something to do with the chemicals in the leather ?

That's such a cool find! I bet that guy was bummed when he lost that!

Thats like finding a cache...way cool !!! soak in lemon juice for a half hour or so...then add some baking soda...let them soak...then rub with baking soda and a little water between fingers.

I would be ecstatic if I found that!

I would definitely use electrolysis on those coins. It'll clean the silvers right up, and help a lot with the others.

no matter what, still cool

That's insane, congrats on a very unique find!

Congrats you can cross one off your bucket listing !!! "Finding a lost wallet with coins inside !!" Fantastic good hunting there !!

I bet that sounded different! Great find!

Neat. If they are common date silver, I would attempt to soak them in white vinegar and see if that would clean them up and then set up a simple electrolysis set-up. I am eager to see those coins shiny. Post more pics once you get them cleaned.

Electrolysis on the silvers... it will clean them up.

That is an awesome find... a wallet... with silver coins... half dollar coin too! Nice save.
