I only had a very short time to hunt near home today. I was lucky to get out at all. The only decent find was what i think is a old watch fob. I never dug one so I’m hoping it is and i couldn’t think of what else it could be. Please correct me if I’m wrong. At first i didn’t even realize it opens up like a locket. It has a mans name and address engraved inside. Maybe ill be able to track a relative down somehow. It also has a makers info stamped on the back but i couldn’t find any info yet at all on them. Chatelaine was a Victorian thing, so it would have predated 1917. If that "star" piece with all the little holes, was attached, then I am almost sure that it is indeed a chatelaine. The chains would have been attached tot he star.

This has been exciting for me, I like solving mysteries

The star was for sure on it. I may have even knocked it off during the dig when i nicked it. There is a perfect outline of the star on the front! [emoji16]
