old water thing

Had this on my families orchard for as long as I can remember used it a number of times when the weather has been to dry to water the sappling almond trees never realized it may be quite old until I was looking at it close and noticed someone hate wrote on it at some point and dated it 1932 I can't read it all but it's interesting just curious to what you guys think

Looks like an old farmers spray tank for herbicide and such

It's homemade and probably a waterer. But the tank came from an old Hardee orchard sprayer I believe. Tony
