Old well in the woods!

I found this old well with a tin shack out by it and a retaining wall between the well and a creek nearby. There was an old fire pit next to the burnt tin shack... I can't wait to take my detector back out there!!!

Looks like a great place to check out. SE Oklahoma has way more history than the rest of the state, and if nothin else you can find lots of arrowheads. Kick every can you see, too, a la Fossis.

Get a bucket and take some of or all of the water out,if it's a shallow well,or better yet get a magnet on a rope and put it in the well,happy hunting.

Hey that magnet on a rope thing is a really great idea!! Deer hunters kept me away this weekend but I should be able to get in there during the week hopefully tomorrow.

OK just cause it looks good doesn't mean it is good.....(actually due to the lack of anything in the area I believe it has been hunted out at least within the capabilities of my Whites Prism III). I even dropped a magnet into the well and hoped i would find a dipper or something like that....nothing. oh well I had an awesome afternoon in the woods and cleaned out some old beer cans anyway! Here's a neat look down the well though and a new (to me) place I'm gunna try to obtain permission to hunt.
