went to another salt water spot - every time I tried here waters have been horrible - today was no different
30 mph winds - strong current and no visibility
got in and almost got back out - lots of seaweed from ankles to waist - swinging was tough
after 1st half hour was ready to call it quits - most others Im sure would have
bad conditions and I think I had 1 sinker and 2 zincs - moved against the current and tried to fight to get out deeper as tide went out
I hit an area that had some sinkers - good sign cause it means no one has been there in a little while
turned around and hunted with the current and got a good signal on top in about chest deep water - it ended up being a fresh drop
silver and gold ring - has names in it - don't know if it is engagement or not - but at least I got a ring
a little while later I got a few coins - pulled a wheat which is a good sign - then was surprised when what I thought was a clad dime (just like the other day)
- gave it a wipe and saw a merc - once again in pretty good shape for saltwater - I started to grid the area hoping for more silver and possibly gold
a little while later I see a dark quarter in my scoop - wipe it and its a standing liberty - blood got pumping then
Got a few more whisper signals - a few more coins - little did I realize that 3 of the quarters I got and thought were clads turned out to be silver too
1963 - 1955 & 1944 ...was shocked - never had silver come out like this in saltwater - in wet sand ..yes - out where I was -no went out deep and got a faint signal and hoped for more silver - turned out to be 1942 gold wedding band
slowed down to a crawl - another faint signal - I see a ring after 3 scoops - turned out to be 10k GF
little while later - faint signal - large silver band -
wondered how I would have done if waters were calm - I had to quit earlier than I wanted to but had friend coming over for dinner and im the chef
but will have to get back there
its not a very big area - but I know there might be more there - stuff is down deeeeep - a lot of these were whispers and I had to fan and recheck
to confirm I had a target - I hunted in all metal - I know guys that hit here with excals and discriminate - they don't believe me - theyre losing depth
good for me though
item in middle is small bronze spike
