I got a Tesoro Lobo ST yesterday. I took it out in my yard which is super trashy and I have hunted alot. Played with it in disc mode with disc set at 9. Found my oldest coin yet. An 1889 indian head penny.

Nice find whitewill_1!

Oldest for now:laughing7:! More will come. GodBless Chris

You know i'd be happy with that , In about 9 years of detecting I've never found one !

Congrats on your oldest coin yet. In your part of the country there are a lot of old coins and relics to be found. Just don't let the discriminate function dictate which signals you dig. Once I started digging the iffy signals, the really cool finds increased in a big way. Keep us posted!

Right in your front yard?

Nice, I'd wouldn't be leaving my house anytime soon after a find like that!

Not my oldest coin anymore. On my last hunt before winter set in way back in November I bested this one by thirty years. I got an 1859 Indian(see avatar) and a 1902 Barber dime that day. My first Barber dime too. These weren't in my yard.

nice update, and great finds...

I used to have a Lobo, its pretty good on silver, but I would never run the Disc that high, 3 is the highest I like, & the Ses at 9.

Same here, just a tad under the 3, I'm thinking about getting another Lobo.

Fantastic recovery ! You are now one with the Tesoro Lobo ST , in record time ! !

I think I need to revise my update a little. I got a good deal on a T2 back in July and the Lobo sadly took a rest in the closet. The Lobo ST is a great detector but for me the T2 is awesome. I actually just took the Lobo out of the closet because I traded it for a Whites M6. I don't know how the M6 will compete with my T2, but we will see come spring. The T2 I have is the green 6.5 model with the 11" and 5" DD coils. The M6 came with the 9.5" and 6×10" DD and I have a 5" excelerator coming. I love the 5" so much on the T2 that I had to get one for the M6 too.
