Oldest Coin found in Bank Ordered Half Rolls?

I'm sold! I've found 8 Franklins and one Walker out of halves from various banks from rolls people brought in...I will place an order for halves tomorrow....HH

I got a 1942 Walker last week.

In the two plus weeks since I've returned (after 30 years) to CRHing, the oldest half I picked out was a Walking Liberty 35S.

I found an 1899 Barber half dollar in a bag of half dollars from bank. This was a few months ago.

1918 Walker about a month or two ago.

I had an 1906 Barber half middle of the year, then Ringding beat me. :)

Oh wait, my oldest coin found in a half roll was an 1878 or 1879 Penny from Spain.

Paul,

The thread is titled oldest coin found in bank ordered half rolls; as in rolls of half dollars.

While yours is a great find, and we'd like to know where you found it, it likely wasn't in a roll of half dollars; it just wouldn't fit. A 1916 English penny, yes, they're just about the same size; but not a Morgan.

oldest coin found in a half roll was an 1948 Ben today "today was my first box of $500 ill post pic soon" 14 keeper in all

for this year it is only 1951 ben but I got high hopes with all these barbers coming out early.
Best Regards, Ray

For 2006 my oldest was a 1917-D reverse Walker. But I also found a 1915 & 1916 British Penny.

Geez, folks, ya don't have to string Paul up for saying he got a Morgan while coin roll hunting......obviously he just missed the word "half" when he responded.......1919 Walker for me 3 weeks ago....

Greg

Last April I found a 1897 Barber Half. The coin was so worn it would be a Fair 2 not even a AG. I also found a 1910 counterfit Barber Half 2 weeks ago.

1915 and a 1915 D wheat pennies.
