oldest dog tag,25th LC and more

dug my 25th lc for the year the front is almost toast but can see 1851

also got an Ih 1898

4 assorted flat buttons no design
2 curtain rod ends both broke in half


but the best was the 1896 dog tax tag from kingston ny
this is the oldest known tag from kingston

fmerg, If you email Neil at oddcoins@msn.com, he has a data base for dog tags and can tell you the oldest tags from that city/township and my be able to give you some more info on it. He is also a member on TN but I dont know what his screen name is. Thought you might be interested. None the less, cool find. Butcher.

YEAH! That dog tag is a SWEET find!!

$250 is top dollar! NICE!!

Someone must really REALLY want it for their collection to pay THAT much! Kinda rough shape from being dug . . . and the serial number is kinda high (#959) . . . . that means that there was at least 959 of these tags issued . . . but if someone is willing to pay that much then there must not be too many known to survive. All the others probably got tossed or buried with the dog! ha ha ha!!
