Oldschool got a good one!!

Me and Oldschool hit a site with 2 old homes on it yesterday. They were on an 1880 map and gone by 1900. The site didn't look too promising, but I got a cruddy Indian after a few minutes. This gave us the notion to try a little longer. Then I hear Oldschool calling me over to him with this sly grin on his face. He says, I got a coin that says HALF something on the back. Well, it turned out to be a very nice 1853 O with arrows half dime. Wow. I was excited. Oldest coin we've found in a while. And from a site that really didn't look all that great. Not much glass, brick, pottery or anything.. I'm posting this pic because he only has dial-up. We went out today and got one cruddy 1860 Indian at a school site. HH Dan

Nice coin. I've only found one half dime it was a 1857 and was holed two.

Awesome coin for sure The closest I came to finding a half dime was a Canadian fishscale, my brother managed his first half dime last year, maybe I'll manage to conjure up one this year hopefully.
