We could probably do that some time, you've got me nervous though since your looking for your "71 Olds 442"
In the winter of 1979 in McCall I had a head on collision with the same and I was driving my 1971 Pontiac Firebird! It's feeling a little twilight zonish! LOL, pm me and we'll swap contact info !

U need to submit detecting your yard to the show, Dirty Jobs!, LOL I have to give ya A for effort though

I can't believe what I am reading, this same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago! Only it wasn't at my house, but a co-worker who has their house for sale with an attached vacant lot. They gave me permission to hunt the lot-after about two hours I get the reading and start to dig-about 12 inches down I hit the top of the can-it was at a slight angle. At first I thought it was a pop can-but after some clearing I saw the word Folgers-I thoght I was going to have a heart attack. I thought to myself-there is no way this is down this deep by accident-it had to be buried here on purpose! I was so excited. I must have worked the hole for about 1/2 an hour-but all I had with me was a small hand shovel-tried prying it from the side with the shovel-it wouldn't budge. Boy, it must be filled with some goodies I thought. By this point my wrist was killing me and it was dark-so I decided to bury the hole and go home-come back tomorrow with a bigger shovel. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very good that night!! The next day right after work I went there with a big shovel and dug and dug and dug-finally was able to pull the can straight up-ugh!!!!! Needless to say you know the feeling I felt, what a bummer!!(not my exact words and thoughts at the time ;D). On the plus side I did find four wheat pennies at this lot & they were all dated 1919-all four of them-and they were all in different spots-I found this rather strange as well. Oh well, keep searching-the next one may be the big treasure!! ;D
