One cool old dude

No doubt this was the nicest day left in 2011.

Got one very toasted copper, and this rather cool "head", pretty sure it is old, but what it is I have no idea. Anyone ? I do like it though, it's different.

Yes, I have seen/found all types, but this is the first 'Head' I have seen. (I really like it, add to the list) They went on wood, one can assume, but would look out of place on any furniture, the clothing hook seems unlikely for these larger ended type (like the shell etc), so curtain tie back seems the most logical. However, I'm not sure anyone really knows.

If that's what it is you should be able to find a match with a head online, because they aren't really rare... and I too have dug one. In fact, I've seen the same one I dug at least twice, so they are out there. I think I actually seen one on the same database.

Rarity has nothing to do with whether a correct ID exists, you should know that. (some of the most common things are the least studied)
