or picks his nose. Unearthed this beauty near the 1880's wagon road that I really enjoy hunting. I suppose a good sandblasting and a new handle will put it back in service after sleeping in the ground for 120+ years. Any tool guys/gals with a possible estimation on a date of manufacture? Note that it is relatively small, only 14" from tip to tip. Thanks for looking and happy hunting, Sub 8-)

With some better pictures from the top of the eye,and from the side close to the socket,I might be able to semi-narrow down a period.I have several 1850's hand forged punch eyes that I put handles on,and use on a normal basis.Damn fine steel they used.Being that small its what we refer to as a "Drifting",pick.They were made to be used in tight places....like in a mine tunnel.....drifting is a method of mining...drifting along following the Pay streak
