One more "last trip"

Decided to give my general store next to the house one "last try" before calling it done and moving on. Like normal, after getting this in my mind, I find another coin that will make me go back....yet again :D
1902 Indian-6inches down and directly UNDER 3 nails! Go E-trac!
1944 Wheatie
Presto glass lid- found in side of plug while digging wheatie
two spoon heads, possibly silver, but not sure.

Re: One more "last trip"

Wow! I'd have to go back, again, myself! Nice finds. Look forward to seeing some gold in that pan!

Re: One more "last trip"

Its hard to "done" with this site :) If those coins keep finding their way under your coil, you'll probably keep going back, best of luck on the next trip.

Never call a site done! Congrats!

Re: One more "last trip"

Congrats on the Indian Den!! There's something really satisfying about pulling a keeper out of a hole full of junk isn't there!!

Congrats again...and I think this is NOT the last trip to this site!!

Re: One more "last trip"

The part about this I hadn't posted was that the landowner was there to watch me dig the Indian and just as excited for me as I was! It was funny because we talked in the past about a detector he had years ago, a $20 thing from radio shack! He said it wouldn't even beep when the coin was on top the ground half the time :D
Anyway, he liked my old White's and was impressed with it, but then when I showed up with the etrac a few weeks back, he took notice and walked over. He said "way too complicated and looks expensive, too rich for my blood" ;D
I told him it was indeed an investment, but that it was supposed to see coins right through trash...he laughed and walked away shaking his head and said, "have fun young man!"
Fast forward to the Indian dig the other night and he was shocked when I pulled out the first square nail, he said "not supposed to be finding them" and laughed. I smirked, pulled out nail 2, then 3 and said, well guess it was all junk. He knew by the sheepish grin on my face that I was holding out on him and he finally said, "ok smarta$$, I can tell there is more in there". I pulled out the indian and he just smiled and shook my hand. I offered it to him and he said "NO, you deserve all you dig, just have fun, but if you hit gold bricks, we split them" :D
No problem there! I even offered to teach him to use my white's and go along with me, but he said at 85, his days of bending and digging are over. He's been the most gracious of hosts and I loved being able to let him finally see me dig something of value to me on his land. All my other keepers were found when he quit and went inside for the night so he's only seen them after they were cleaned up.
DK, you're right, even when the targets stop coming up, I think I owe it to him to continue showing up, he likes the company and you can't find many as hospitable and happy for you as he is. I know he'll never see this cause he doesn't have internet, but Dale, THANK YOU for giving me such a special place so close to home to do what I love :hello2:

Re: One more "last trip"

Great story Dennis!! The longer I'm in this hobby the more I realize that the keepers coming out of the dirt are only half the fun...the other half is the keeper friends we make while doing it!!

Congrats again......go keep Dale company....and pull some silver for him to see will ya?
