I had a nice hunt and recovered mostly artifacts. I finally dug a complete harmonica instead of the normal reeds or partial reeds. It is in bad shape but still somewhat complete. I found a canning jar lid with the glass but the metal is mostly gone. I recovered 4 buckels, and an old pocket knife. The pocket knife is toast. Six wheat pennies from 1925 to the 1950's. A couple of weights that I assume would be for a small scale marked 3/4 and 2. I guess that would be ounces. A little clad, and the nicest Indian that I dug for its age. 1864 but not a fatty. You can read Liberty on the head dress and also many of the other details. It must have been dropped right after minting and looks pretty good for 154 years old. I forgot to mention I dug this Indian at 10 inches. Love that Indian! Must have been some very “kind” soil. Mine all end up toasted from the pines! Great finds and thanks for sharing. Happy hunting

beautiful Indian!!! I found a non fatty 64 a while back its nothing like yours. The ground was very kind to it!!

Really nice Indian! Wish they came out like that here.

Beautiful Indian. BTW you only spanned 2.5 centuries of relics!

That's a beautiful IH!!! and congrats on the rest of your finds!!! "D"

It was dug in what used to be an old farm field below a home that was built in the 1820's. 8 to 10 inches of rich easy to dig top soil. I forgot to mention I dug it at 10 inches deep. Just kept getting a high chirp in two directions over it and the vdi said 10 inches deep. It was right on the money

thats a good haul good job

A Civil War penny in great shape. A real keeper. You lucky dog! Gary

That’s a super IHC. Old and just perfect. Mine don’t ever look like that. Congrats to you sir.

For being that old the conditions must have been just right to preserve it! Very nice save!! If that harmonica was in a little better shape you could have played it while you did the happy dance!!

Man that IHC is ridiculous! Looks like it was dropped day after minting. Congrats:icon_thumright:

I can show you pictures of my other Indian finds and they are mostly toasted. I guess there are different factors involved.

It couldn't have been in circulation very long.

Nice IHC! Need to take a closer look and see if it has the L on the ribbon of the headdress

Well done. Looks like all the coins came out nicely :occasion14:
Dug a complet harmonica once but one of the rivets broke while pulling it out of the plug...
The wood in the middle crumbled all over :BangHead: Glad it came out in one piece.
