Buy some on eBay. They sell bags for a like $10-20 bucks. Read the sellers feedback before buying. Salted or not buy paydirt is a great way for beginners and disabled people to participate.

In Northern California we get black sand on the beaches when the waves get crazy big. All the blonde sand gets washed away and some claim you can run the sand through a concentrator and get gold. A guy from Gold Beach, Oregon sells it online for around a buck a pound. Haven't tried it but I only live an hour away so what the heck. If there's beach gold, It's always a great day to go to the beach!
