Only one but who's complaining?

Got out and walked a small creek yesterday that has only given up a couple of points in the past. The bottom is littered with chunks of very hard clay (marl) that fractures and stains just like flint. The only way to tell is to touch it with metal. Your fingernail won't even scratch it, so I'm constantly being fooled by pieces that look like flake knives, preforms and even points lying under water. Knew that I had the real thing though when I spotted this one sitting high and dry. Made my day because it's been a long time. :hello2:

That is awesome! Love that material.

Wow, that is a beauty! What would you call that type in your area, and what time frame is it most likely from? Congratulations !

Now THAT is what I keep hoping to find every time I go out. Very rare material in my area. Quality form and condition = Very nice "displayable" piece!

if i had a nickel for every time i bent over for a sliver of clay!......

i actually picked this one up thinking it WAS clay!
