did a nickel dump at my CU that will not sell boxes to members. ask the teller for halves, she has $8 in the tray, then says they have more CWR's in the vault. I grab $400 and they tell me "there is no silver, we go through each roll". GOTCHA!!!!. went back today and bought them out of the remaining CWR's. they get searched tonight

Nothing better than getting one over on a smug sniper. I am reminded of the line from The Princess Bride: "I do not think that words means what you think it means." So, if they are gonna snipe, they need to step up their game. Next time you stop in to feed at the silver trough, be sure to look glum and do your best Eeyore voice... since they already got all the silver. A snacker will never search as well as a stacker!

Sniping tellers at one bank near me got a bunch of standing liberty and barber quarters, told me all about it and didn't even know what they were, doesn't that just make you mad lol. Those are on my list to find atleast once in my crh career, taken right from me. They will prolly take them right to the coin store and sell them for silver right away without even doing any research on them.

So offer to buy them first, for more than the coin store will pay. You'll still be able to get them under melt.

Some of my best scores have been from tellers, they took all the 90%, I have gotten several full rolls of 40%, over a few years. Last time they even gave me two 80% Canadians .

I did and she said no. The more I tried to get the coins the more she thought she hit the jackpot. I wouldn't be as mad if finding a quarter older than Washington wasn't on my list of things to find.

She most likely DOESN'T even know what a standing liberty quarter looks like, (especially without a date- she would think its a token of some sort), nor have any grasp of a walking liberty half?
